PostSubject: Ghost Dog ~ The way of the samurai   Thu May 05, 2011 2:19 am

I have a problem with this " not double posting "
If I edit a new message in with the older message, it doesn't show when I posted this last message, also, it doesn't show up as a new post in the main page so no one will notice and read my new post. So I have to wait for someone to finally write something in the Topic I want to post in, so I can place a new message, just because I happened to be the last person that posted, even though it was weeks ago and the thing I was to share now has absolutely nothing to do with the latest thing I said weeks ago. I think that's flawd. Let me know if you think I am violating the rules, or sue me or something.

Now to the thing I actually wanted to post:

_ _ _______________ _ _ _ _ _ __ __

If you are looking for a new movie to see, you may wanna check

Ghost Dog, The Way of the Samurai (1999)

I enjoyed it very much. It's a classic
I included the storyline and a random review from imdb

Storyline

In Jersey City, an African American hit man follows "Hagakure: The Way of the Samurai." He lives alone, in simplicity with homing pigeons for company, calling himself Ghost Dog. His master, who saved his life eight years ago, is part of the local mob. When the boss' daughter witnesses one of Ghost Dog's hits, he becomes expendable. The first victims are his birds, and in response, Ghost Dog goes right at his attackers but does not want to harm his master or the young woman. On occasion, he talks with his best friend, a French-speaking Haitian who sells ice cream in the park, and with a child with whom he discusses books. Can he stay true to his code? And if he does, what is his fate? Written by

Review from imdb.com :

22 out of 29 people found the following review useful:
Top-notch, 10 July 2006

Author: (winner55) from United States

Basically, Jim Jarmush's best (and most accessible) film; Forrest Whitaker's best performance (and the best performances by a host of little recognized but worthy character actors), the best sound track, best music from the RZA; - I mean, '90's film-making just couldn't get better than this, and if you're having trouble understanding this, then read some books and see some movies, because this is a film that does not talk "down" to its audience, but expects us to live up to it.

This is a film about the clash - and potential interweaving - of very different cultures. That the interweavings ultimately become untethered, is solely because we are not yet ready to live up to the promise of being a "multi-cultural" melting-pot that we have always promised ourselves we'd become.... But that doesn't give us any right to lose hope or stop trying.

Ghost Dog is the spirit of this possible future. We don't have to have the worst of every culture, we could actually bring together the best.

Magnificently written, shot, performed - and, despite a grim finale, one of the most optimistic films on this topic I've ever seen.

It's a good book - I recommend it.

Was the above review useful to you?

THE OTHER GUYS

I am not a big fan of humor movies since they are never funny but I actually kind of enjoyed this one. I am not gonna say you should see it because that will only make you avoid it harder Smile. My fav scene clip from youtube. Have fun

A movie about friendship and betrayal. A movie with sharp
edges. With Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin Don't be fooled
by the trailer, that looks a little dull.

My rating

7.9 / 10

Im shocked by the movie The Kings Speech.
If thats the best movie of the year, then movies must fucking suck, because that move was mediocre and no sound.
thats my review, for THE KINGS SPEECH, WINNER OF 4 OSCARS. lmao

Allright

I am watching the best TV series I have seen so far. I wont spill the beans
for you but it has every ingredient to make this show into uncut dope and it is
very addictive. Be forewarned

O yes, I have two invitions left this year on a TV series torrentsite (legal and
official, by invite only). Let me know if you want in, if I still have them that is.

CHRONICLE

IMDB review
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great New Twist on Superhero Movies
4 February 2012 | by Richard Reilly (FFman@comcast.net) (Colorado)

Enjoy trolling? Enjoy watching people get trolled? Here's your movie. Chronicle stumbled into theaters thoroughly undervalued. Although it does have its flaws, it has paved an entirely new route in the worn-out genre of superheroes. Chronicle brings all the major superhero questions into play—Where did our powers come from? How should we use our powers? In the end, however, those questions are irrelevant. This movie is not about three superheroes. It is about three teenage boys who just happen to have super powers.
--------------------------------------------------------

I haven't seen this movie yet .. so it's a suggestion. Wach it online and let us know what you think !

http://www.1channel.ch/watch-2731913-Chronicle

(sorry about the low Q TS version. we will have to wait a year for the good one)
